Incoming rant about ship wars. Something that gets under my skin. People going up to other fans and screaming at them (internet or other wise) about how they can't ship something cause it goes against the Canon and is "disrespectful" to Vivzi and those members of that part of the community. "You can't ship angel with a woman hes gay" "you can't ship Vaggie with a man shes lesbian" "you can't ship Alastor with anyone hes asexual and aromantic" Vivzi herself has stated "i know whats canon but that shouldn't stop the fans from shipping something" get a grip and pull that stick out of your ass people. At the end of the day these are fictional characters in a fictional universe. Also I'd like to point out that this happens in other fandoms like My little pony, Steven Universe, Star vs, Danny Phantom, animes like Bleach, My Hero Academia, Naruto ect... stop ruining people's fun. I also have several asexual and other LGBTQ+ friends who agree that at the end of the day shipping does no harm. Also as an extra example. I'm demisexual a branch of asexual that means I don't find someone sexually attractive until I have known them for a while and I still want Al to bend me over and break my fucking back. Listen, shipping characters has a long tradition in fandom community, from before we had any canon goddamn representation. At the end of the day, as long as the shippers are respectful of real live people with those identities, I don’t see the problem shipping two characters who wouldn’t canonically fuck for whatever reason, with one another. sometimes I just want to ship two characters I think would have a good relationship

Are you hurting anyone by saying, albeit in a somewhat crude manner, that you're attracted to this character

You're not saying "yeah no this character would 100% go against their identity just to fuck me", you're... you're literally just going "this entirely fictional dude is hot, I'd really like to sleep with him if that were a possible thing"

I'm gonna be real honest, as a queer person I have bigger issues than someone wanting an aspec character to bend them over the nearest surface

Like the fact that I can be denied healthcare for being queer, that I'm likely to die before I reach my 40s, that there are people out there who would like to see me dead, that 40% of homeless youth are LGBTQ+ despite LGBTQ+ people making up only 4% of the general population, that trans people are being put in the wrong prisons, that black trans women are more likely to be murdered, that bi women are more likely to be sexually assaulted by a partner, that racism is so rampant in queer spaces that my friend's black queer friends make jokes about going to 39th in their city to hang out around racist white gays, that we're more likely to be targeted by cigarette advertising and that all the adult queer spaces seem to be bars and ALL OF THESE ARE MUCH BIGGER PROBLEMS THAN YOU THINKING A FICTIONAL FUCKING CHARACTER IS HOT AND WANTING HIM TO DOM YOU

I... I appreciate allies trying to get people to be respectful but like IDK maybe actually step up where we fucking need it first, go out and vote for people who won't write bathroom bills, go out and volunteer or donate to organizations that support LGBTQ homeless youth, buy some content from a black disabled trans sex worker, stop supporting the Salvation Army, protest rainbow capitalism and fascism

It's nice to like... see people give half a shit but I'd really like to see them give a shit in a way that's directly helpful to someone.
